    2016 MSCV Intern Application Survey Results

    MSCV is pleased to present the findings of our inaugural Intern Application Survey. This year following the Victorian intern application period, MSCV sought feedback from applicants on the match and its associated application process. The survey collected responses to a wide variety of topics, and has given insight to several issues faced by applicants during the match.

    The results of this survey have formed the basis for a number of recommendations for improvements to the application system. These encompass both centralised, and hospital-network controlled parts of the process. This report will help guide MSCV’s advocacy in this area; allowing us to work to ensure a fairer, simpler, and more accessible application process in the future.

    MSCV has already met with key stakeholders regarding the report, and is pleased to update that some of our suggested changes are already being investigated for the 2017/18 Match.

    Applications for Chair of Council, 2017

    The Medical Student Council of Victoria (MSCV) is proud to announce that applications are now open for the position of Chair of Council for 2017. MSCV is the peak representative body for Victorian medical students and is at the forefront of the big issues facing medical students.

    The Chair of MSCV is the most senior medical student advocacy position in Victoria and is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engaged student leaders, represent Victorian medical students, run state-level advocacy campaigns and oversee major student-run events. The role requires a significant personal time commitment. Students from all four Victorian Medical Schools are eligible to apply.

    Each applicant will be required to submit a CV and a vision statement (no more than three hundred words in length). These must be emailed to your respective MedSoc President by 11. 59pm on Sunday, 16th of October 2016. 

    Applicants must also be available to attend the Council meeting on the evening of the 19th of October 2016, to be held at the University of Melbourne, Parkville campus.
